Notes from Mary Ann

We have been developing a routine and rhythm to our new cleaning job process as the Kindergarten children continue to rotate through the 3 choices of "Tables", "Floors" and "Kitchen" jobs, and training the children just under their own age bracket.  It is wonderful to see them create their own style and methods, time frames and flexibilities according to other patterns that may be incorporated into the day.

The Kindergarteners have been focusing on making their project for the classroom to present at Crossing Over and their interest and diligence is a joy to observe.  They can't wait to present the outcome of their efforts.

Our Garden Wish List has been fulfilled and we also have many small containers for starting seeds...all of which we will be starting on next week.

Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and response!
Many older children have as late become enthralled with the "Dot Game".  This is a funny sounding name for a Mathematics activity that helps to show how amounts are carried over to the next category, encourages the child to be comfortable working with large numbers and moves yet another step toward abstraction.  It is exciting to hear the children counting to themselves "ten thousand, twenty thousand, thirty thousand....."

blessings,
Mary Anna
