Notes from Kristen
Thank you to all the families who joined us for work day. As always we were super productive and our environment looks great! The children are loving the handprints in the bathroom: thanks Sienna, Oliver, Quinn, Isaac, and Cyrus.
We will start planting our garden beds this week with carrots, kale, tomatoes, peas and peppers. Our work will start being balanced between our indoor and outdoor space; allowing children the freedom to work in our outdoor space creates a sense of responsibility that carries into every environment. We do follow certain guidelines which allow the children to use the space independently: the gate is always locked, the children need to stay in the larger part of the garden so they can always be seen by an adult through the window, and children must always come inside if someone (ANYONE, even if it's someone they know) comes to the gate.
We have begun to practice our Crossing Over songs so you may hear a little bit of singing at home (hopefully!) The children are really excited for the celebration. If you are willing and able to contribute (Crossing Over families excluded) to the celebration please contact Bridget Asay. Thank you!
Kelly McCracken will be in on Thursday, May 27th to take classroom group photos. I hope everyone will be here and that it will be a nice day! If your child has a summer birthday please contact me about a time to celebrate at school.
